Schaffer’s Mill is a community of 406 homes, including 218 single family home sites and 188 duplex town homes called the Lodges. Some 296 acres, 63% of the property will remain open space. The new community includes a championship 18-hole, 7,000-yard golf course designed by World Golf Hall of Fame member Jonny Miller & John Harbottle III, each known for highly regarded golf courses in the U.S and abroad. Schaffer’s Mill Club memberships are available to community residents and others outside the community. The golf course has opened and includes chipping and putting greens and a driving range.
Members can enjoy poolside dining at “the Market” while construction continues on the Schaffer’s Mill Clubhouse complex which includes a 25,000 sq. ft. clubhouse with a restaurant, bar and grill, swimming pool, spa, fitness facilities, tennis courts, men’s and women’s locker rooms and social and meeting rooms. There is a fly-casting pond, multi-use courts, a tot-lot, picnic and barbecue area, ice skating rink, a community trail system ideal for walking, hiking and biking; ample space for cross-country skiing, sledding, tubing, snow-shoeing and more. Concierge services will be an important aspect of the Schaffer’s Mill Club. Services will include home maintenance, plans for on-site and off-site recreation, guest accommodations, fly fishing trips, boat and airplane rentals, travel reservations and child care.
Phase I construction includes 40 Lodges (duplex town homes) from 1,900 to 2,600 square feet, eight Estate properties for custom homes, and 39 home sites. These wooded home sites, with views of the golf course, forest, Northstar and the Carson Range, will be sensitively developed to minimize disturbance to the surroundings. Architectural guidelines and design review processes are in place.
Be sure to treat yourself to the exquisite new restaurant, The Sawyer, at the new Clubhouse.
